SFMF PRO | My assigned domain name with bluehost is not the same one I purchased; how do I fix this?

Several things could have happened here if the assigned domain name is not the same as the one you purchased; or maybe accidentally did not purchase.

One of the solutions below will help you figure it out.

This usually happens when:

#1: You purchase a hosting account without a domain name to go along with it and maybe you thought you did purchase a domain name but you actually did not. It happens all the time so do not worry.

By default when you purchase a hosting account; it has to be assigned to a domain name. Which is called the "Primary" domain name. A primary domain; which is the main (default) domain name assigned to your hosting account.

In a case like this; when you do not purchase a domain name, Bluehost will assign a generic domain name for you that is created by bluehost; to go along with your hosting account.

In this case to solve the issue, you need to login to your Bluehost account. Once logged in, go to the "Domains" tab and purchase a domain name through Bluehost.

Then contact Bluehost asking them to assign your domain to your hosting account as the primary domain name.

OR...

#2: You may have purchased a domain name and hosting; however something happened along the way, which caused the domain name not to be purchased OR; you may have purchased the domain name and hosting separately by accident.

Again; of domain name was not purchased; then follow the steps in #1.

But If somehow you purchased them separately; it means they are not assigned to each other. Hence when you login to your hosting account; you see that generic domain created by Bluehost, and not the one you purchased.

In this case you would need to contact Bluehost and ask them to link your purchased domain to your hosting account as the primary domain name.

OR...

#3: Maybe you did purchase your domain and hosting together at the same time but for whatever reason when you login to your Bluehost account; you do not see your domain name assigned to your hosting. This does happen but very rare.

In this case you need to contact Bluehost and let them know the following:

"You purchased your domain name (ENTER DOMAIN NAME); and you do not see your domain name assigned to your hosting account as the primary domain name. You would like to remove the self generated domain name by Bluehost and instead; assign the domain name you purchased as the primary domain name on the hosting account."

This is all you need to tell them and they do fix the issue for you.
